Professional Experience

Internship at Amaze Digital Technologies

April 2017 | Easter Break

I spent my Easter break at Amaze Ltd. I had the opportunity of watching one of the teams work on an Emirates rebranding project, which gave me a clearer idea of what working in a collaborative work space with a team of developers looks like. I was personally given a project to work on in order to stretch my knowledge by trying Java script for the first time.

  • Was asked to create a tic-tac-toe game with many different functionalities
  • Included a JavaScript Library called Socket.io to allow players to play from two different and remote locations
  • Used same software to develop and install a remote chat feature
  • Troubleshooted and solved problems as they arose
  • Learnt a lot about software development
  • Developed my ability to learn at speed
  • Gave me real life experience of software development
Manchester Jr Hackerthon

2018 | Half Term Break

  • Took part in the Manchester Junior Hackathon, a hacking and programming competition
  • Worked collaboratively with 3 other classmates
  • We were given 6 hours to create a technological solution that could help someone with dementia
  • We attempted to develop an application that recognise all four of our voices and print our name on the screen
  • Applied our studied knowledge to real world problems
  • Were put under strict deadlines to create innovative solutions

Freelance Projects

2019 - 2020 | I spent 2019 and 2020 working on personaly projects as well as freelance projects. Here are some of the projects I worked on during this time frame.

Project 1 : Business Website

The first project I worked on was a website for my freelancing business. I decided that I needed a way to advertise my services, and so I developed Xaultron. A business website for my web development services at the time

Project 2 : Care Home Website

The second project I worked on was a website for a client who had just opened up a care home for the elderly and needed a digital footprint for her business. This project threw me in the deep end; It was a little too big for me at the time, but looking back in hindsight, I lived up to my client's expectations and simultaneously managed to exceed my own. I learnt on the job and managed to submit the project as well as all revisions before the agreed deadline. Here are some of the responsibilities I undertook for this project :

  • Branding : Logo Design
  • Web Design
  • Web Development
  • Writing company privacy policy documents
  • Setting up the domain
  • Setting up the web hosting

Project 3 : Job Application Form

The third project I worked on was through a referral from my above mentioned client. This project was for a fully validated form for a client who owned a care agency and wanted job applications to be done online as his agency was beginning to grow exponentially. I designed & developed a HTML & CSS form, and validated it using Javascript. I also worked on ensuring that upon submission, all details will be sent to the admin's email as an attachament using a few lines of of Node JS

After doing freelance work, I felt like I needed a new challenge. With that in mind, I decided to persue software engineering through attaining a BSc in Computer Science which is what I am currently doing
